Brought my 435i to them for the first time and let them know I was looking for a quality indy shop in the area and had heard they provided quality service at honest prices. They gave me an oil change for $165 which I thought was a bit high - that's about what I expected a dealer to charge but I didn't get a quote from a dealer to compare so I didn't complain. Then they recommended changing my cabin and engine air filters. Fair enough, they haven't been changed yet and are probably due. They quoted me $52 for the engine air filter, $59 for the cabin air filter and $145 in labor for a total of $256. The genuine BMW engine air filter costs $35, the genuine cabin filter costs $46 and buying from an OEM supplier like Corteco cuts those prices in half. These are very easy to install as well, they both take about five minutes. An actual technician could install these with their eyes closed so I have no idea where they got $145 of labor from. Needless to say I realized I was bring ripped off and didn't have them change the filters. It's unfortunate because I wanted this to become my go-to shop but instead of getting all of my future business they tried to rip me off over some simple filters on my first visit immediately after I told them I heard they were a good place and wouldn't rip me off. My interactions with the staff were great, very friendly people, but I left insulted at that quote and won't be back as a result. Prioritizing a quick buck over a potential lifetime customer...

Great experience, very knowledgeable and trustworthy. I came in with a very difficult problem to diagnose after trying several other places with no luck. They not only found the problem, but also found out that there was an extended warranty on the piece due to manufacturer error, and sent me to the dealer to get it replaced for free for nothing more than the inspection fee. Great guys all around! Edit: Just updating to add that two years on, this is still the only place I trust with my aging Mini Cooper. ☺️Though BMW prices can be steep, they always work so hard to get it done as efficiently as possible. If they say something needs doing, you can trust them 100%. Couldn't meet a nicer team.

Where do I start, I cannot begin to express my gratitude for J & F Motors. This shop has the utmost respect and understanding for European autos, especially BMW's. I had an issue with my car which made me take it to 2 different BMW's dealerships in the area and sadly both couldn’t diagnose the issue. The issue was that I was hearing a weird popping sound which sounded like it was coming from my suspension, this also costed me 180 plus for diagnoses fee so it was clear that I wasn’t going to waste my time taking my car to a dealership anymore. So I decided to dig deep into some BMW Forums and saw that these guys (J & F motors) know their stuff and had a good reputation. Moreover, when I set up an appointment online, I explained the issue that I was having and seeing if they would be able to assist, Charlie responded with certainty and stated that issues like these could be tough to diagnose, but they’re experts and have great knowledge with BMW and BMW Motorsports and that they would be more than happy to take it in to have a look. After the first exchange of words through email, I felt very confident leaving my car with them. Next, the day of the appointment, I met Charlie in person I could tell from the older model BMW's that were on their lot that they had a strong customer base and people trusted them with their cars. Charlie and I had quick conversation when we met in person and then I met Greg who Charlie asked if he was able to take a quick ride along with me to imitate the noise for better clarification before leaving my car with them, keep in mind it had to be over 100 degrees that day with the heat index and Greg came on a ride along and then when we got back he stood outside the car and took a look at the brake pads while having me go back and forth. While doing, he spent a good 15 to 20 minutes outside the car with the engine heat blowing off the engine (which I know had to be uncomfortable hot. Greg came back to window and stated it’s the brake pads they’re slipping which is causing such a uncomfortable noise and stated that he wouldn’t recommend replacing it since I still had a lot of meet left on the pads. Hearing this really made me respect Greg and Charlie and I instantly knew that I wouldn’t not be bringing my M5 anywhere else but their shop. That day they didn’t make even 1 dollar from me, but treated me as if I was their best customer! That truly shows how much they value you, your car, the profession! I cannot thank Greg, Charlie, and the rest of the shop enough for everything they’ve done for me and my car. I have since taken my car back for standard service and feel apart of the J & F family! they took car of every maintenance request and even had a couple recommendations (since I personally requested them to recommend due to my mileage). I recommend this shop to anyone that’s looking for a mechanic in the DMV area, You’ll be glad you did!
