I took on ownership of a 1988 BMW M6 E24 over 10 years ago and entrusted the J&F team with its mechanical restoration. Through many projects, from major projects like removing the self-leveling system to minor fixes and replacing virtually all of the 30-year old hoses, gaskets, etc. the J&F team were creative, transparent and honest. Next, they are truly mechanical wizards...they know their stuff, which made diagnosis and repairs faster and much more durable. Finally, they seemed to be able to source hard to find parts and always provided me with a prioritized list of needed repairs so that I could plan for them over time. So I would highly recommend J&F for all things BMW (I can’t speak to other makes!)

The gas shocks to my hatch expired and Charlie worked with me and walked me through the parts and labor needed to fix it. He was courteous, friendly, and extremely helpful. J&F is an honest garage that seems to place their customer's best interests first. I highly recommend them.

Very professional and thorough. I brought my 2016 BMW X6 in for new front brakes. Ended up being the rear brakes. As always they did a thorough analysis by liking at the brakes. Informed me that I had some time before the front brakes were due. Charlie is always friendly and this time Skylar was happy to take me to Shirlington while I waited. They were right on time, less than 3 hours. I really don’t know why anyone whose car is past warranty would take it to the dealer. I have really appreciated the work they do, even during the pandemic when I am sure it was hard to stay open. I truly believe doing business here has made me enjoy my X6 even more. Highly recommend to others.

I have used J&F for decades. I had a front end vibration in my 2001 X5. J&F diagnosed the problem as a worn control arm and replaced it. They have maintained all my BMWs. I recommend them highly

All I can say, is that honesty is the best policy.

Mr. Griffith, As per our last conversation I was hoping you would bring your vehicle back so we could look at the brakes together. To see how we measured the brake pad thickness at 2.5mm on the most worn front brake pad & 3mm on the most worn rear brake pad. I suspect the dealer ship is just looking at the service menu. Which relies on the brake pad sensor. There is only one sensor for the front brake pads but there is four pads on the front brakes. So if they did not physically measure the thickness. They may have missed the most worn brake pads. The rear brakes also have the same set up with only one brake sensor. Please feel free to reach out to us at anytime. We would love to resolve this is issue. New pads have a standard thickness of about 10 Millimeters , and the minimum pad thickness to retain safe braking ability is about 1.5 millimeters, but that doesn't mean you should wait until then—pads should be replaced at around the 3-millimeters mark.
